I've often suggested Usage and Attitude or Intender studies be conducted by clients to help determine market readiness for new technology and adoption. Now it seems that Forrester's Charles Golvin agrees. This is exactly the kind of thing that helps the telcos and the cable folks know just when is when, and then when to say when to pour the dollars behind new technology.

The Geekzone in New Zealand calls the Voice over WiFi market a dysfunctional market, but reveals that Boingo is beta testing a new piece of log-on software for the Symbian Series 60 market. That means N80i, N95 and E series Nokias will be Boingo capable.....Does anyone at Boingo want to send me the software........We do know a few Nokia Blogger Relations bloggers very well.

The TMC Internet Telephony, Call Center 2.0 and Green Technology World shows all start tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing friend from TMC like Rich Tehrani, Greg Galitzine and Tom Keating as well as fellow bloggers Ken Camp, Russell Shaw and Jon Arnold at the annual west coast confab.

While Nokia Nseries phones running Symbian Series 60 have had video on the go for over a year now, it seems that those in the North American market may finally see something like it.

Rogers Wireless in Canada has teamed up with Samsung to offer video on the go with a new phone and a new service.

Having experimented with this along with iotum founder Howard Thaw on the Nokia's N90 and N70 when we were at Spring European VON in Stockholm the experience was much like using SightSpeed or Skype Video. Easy to use and you could see the other party easily, though unlike with SightSpeed, there was a delay.

All in all I see video over mobile to be an experience that will be fun, but not for everyone...especially when driving :-)

Well, let's hope I can do this correctly. I've been privileged to enjoy the Nokia N73 for the past couple of months. As anyone that has had the chance to use this device knows, it's a fantastic phone with a ton of features crammed into a really small package.

What you may not know is that it is also capable of producing what I consider to be some astonishing quality photos. Bear in mind that I'm no kind of professional photographer; far from it. In fact, it wasn't until I received the N90 earlier in the Blogger Outreach Program that I took pictures at all.

That said, I'm very pleased with how my images turn out using the N73 and thought I'd share a couple of them here. I give full credit to Nokia and the N73 for the quality of these images. Any problems you might notice should be squarely blamed upon my own incompetence.

The two images above were shot in San Francisco at Yerba Buena Gardens near the Sony Metreon. The image below is of the "W Hotel" sign and is done using maximum digital zoom. I was amazed at how good the image resolution was using that much digital zoom. The color saturation is remarkable too.

Luca has been busy blogging about the N73 of late. He's out finding tips, tricks and possible upgrades. Best of all he's said the N73 is one of the best five gifts for the holidays.

He also points out that the SIP implementation on the N73 and N93 won't work...and that's something he knows alot about.

Luca has also compared the photo capabilities of both the N73 and N93s..
